So, how to say negative verbs, eg "I don't sing" and so on?
It is after all easy. You don't have to learn loads of different verb forms.. but a new verb , "no"Yes, there is a verb "no" in Finnish.. Though, it isn't usually taken as a verb.. It is only used as a 'helping verb'. I don't - Minä en You don't - Sinä et S/he doesn't - Hän ei We don't - Me emme You pl. don't - Te ette They don't - He eivät Suffixes are same as with normal verbs. So, to say "I don't sing", you take "I don't" from the list above and add the ROOT of "to sing", which is "laula" And the root of the verb is used with every person. I don't sing - Minä en laula You don't sing - Sinä et laula He doesn't sing - Hän ei laula We don't sing - Me emme laula You pl. don't sing - Te ette laula They don't sing - He eivät laula Remember that you don't have to use the pronouns minä,sinä,me,te. EXERCISE: Translate: She doesn't say We don't cry They don't buy You don't sing I don't ask Then, let's move on the personal pronouns. You know that they are i - minä you - sinä s/he - hän we - me you - te they - he but can you inflect them? in cases? For genetive: Minun Sinun Hänen Meidän Teidän Heidän For partitive: Minua Sinua Häntä Meitä Teitä Heitä For inessive, elative, abessive and ablative, change the word form to minu- sinu- häne- mei- tei- hei- and add the suffix. From me = Minusta, minulta To her = Hänelle In them = Heissä Not very complicated. EXERCISE: Translate: From you pl. To you In us Meiltä teille Minusta Sinuun Häneltä kirjalle Minussa on kirja

En jaksa elää ilman koiraani. You have to use the partitive case with the object, and infinitive with the second verb (it's a verb chain (verbiketju in finnish) and the second verb is always in infinitive.. for example, haluta juoda, jaksaa tehdä jotain (jotain=something), täytyä opiskella and so on.) then, if you want to say 'I can't live without my dog', you use the verb "voida", which conjugates as voin, voit, voi, voimme, voitte, voivat En voi elää ilman koiraani the verb pystyä has the same effect, but it's usage is more difficult. en pysty elämään ilman koiraani then the second sentence Sinussa herttakorttini asetaa. sinussa=in you herttakorttini=my hearts card asettaa=to set the sentence should be "Asetan sinuun herttakorttini" (I set in you my hearts card) .. but it doesn't make much sense. You can't really set cards to anyone questions?

Jajaja... The dictionary deceived me ¬¬*
SO, if koira = dog, koiraAni = my dog (with two A's) is it like that with all nouns that end with a vocal*? i mean, you double the last vowel? * = vowel (It's 'spanglish', vocal = vowel in spanish)

Koira = dog
if you say "my dog", you just add -ni Koirani. Koiraani is the same word in partitive case. you usually just add -a- in the end/before the personal suffix. Same with talo. talo=house taloni=my house taloani=my house (partitive) there are some exceptions, though, like the words ending with e. vene=boat veneeni=my boat venettäni=my boat (partitive) sade=rain sateeni=my rain (gradation!) sadettani=my rain (partitive) kone=machine koneeni=my machine konettani=my machine (partitive)

Of course, with nouns that end with an e, partitive is tta/ttä... And you double the 'e'
