I see that Tervetuloa (how is that prunounced?) is somehow coming from Terve, right? What's the suffix for?

humm you say it like ter-veh-ttuh-loah. notice the double t when pronouncing. of course all together without h sounds.. if you get what i mean. look at the pronounciation lesson

terve means healthy and it's used as a greeting.
tulo means something like a 'coming' and the suffix -a is the partitive.. so tuloa means something like 'of a coming'.

i think you got confused by that doubling of the t. well you see, when you have a compound and the first word ends with a vowel and the second starts with t, the t is doubled. but you never write it as doubled.
tervetuloa=tervettuloa.

En puhuja qirjoittaa Suome(a)qsi mutta/vaan pidän Suome(a)qsisstä ja Radio Peili oiqein paljon, se on qauniit ja hämmästyttävät mutta
minulla on Englannin qeilen qesqeinen sanasto Otava Eino Meittinen ja Pirqqo uotinen ja Berlitz Englantilais Suomalainen
matqaopasqirja se on vaiqea hidas vaan qylliqsi qyvyqqyys tahansa

Hello everyone who could not read my opening message

I introduced myself and that I wish to write only in finnish even I make mistakes ,I have Berlitz matqaopasqirja and a Englanninqeilen qesqeisen sanasto uusi laitos that was given to me by a fin peqqa Rosental whom I met at Helsinqil station in 1983 he just handed it to me after 30 minutes of talking I had not used it since ,a few years ago I had been interested in taking up Finsk again now I listen to Radiao Peili on Broadband for exposure of sounds.

so menqämme or mennäänpäs Suome(a) or qsi opia let's learn finnish
