Arrow Learn Arabic

souq (not souk) for market, to make a differenc between ك (k) and ق (q)
shaari' or shâri' (sot shari') for street, to mention the long alif
And things like that.. Do you see what I mean?

Dear friend let me say that again
its Colloqiual Egyptian Arabic not Modern Standard Arabic
so I'm sure that thet are right becouse they write the language they speak and
teach ,
Also can I ask where are you from ?
I'm sure that the answer is not Egypt

In Egyptian there is q and k too (Egyptian is an Arabic dialect).
In Egypt, if you say souk you'll mean nothing.. Of course they may think you wanted to say souq, but still it is wrong, also they don't pronouce q as in Arabic, they pronounce it like alif.
for exemple : moon = qamar but in Egyptian it is pronounced : amar

I am Moroccan, from Morocco, and above all I am Arabic, wich mean I understand all dialects, Egyptian is the most easy one and we hear it everyday in TV... I am carefull about the informations I give, I would not write such information if I was not sure about it, in that site, they are maybe not aware about mentioning details, they are not aware that a foreign learner may confuse letters, that's why I said "The website given is not well made. Especially the phonetic".

Now, do you understand what I mean?

So that's it! Just because you find it strange you can't believe it! And all what I explain went in the air.. Do you find it strange if someone correct a mistake he notice? Maybe you'll find it strange that a Moroccan teach Egyptian too : http://help.berberber.com/forum9/99580-lets-learb-egytian-arabic.html..

It seems you did not even tried to see if I am right or not, you just doubt and refuse & maybe think it's a joke.

If you were the owner I would have asked you to put me in contact of those who wrote the phonetic version of the words.

I am not gonna push you to trust me. But I don't advise you to learn those phonetic versions, now it's your choice, do whatever you like.
