hi,
i'd like to know how to write salam 'aleykoum in arabic, please.
and can someone tell me what "Wa as-salam 'aleykoum" means ?

Wa 'alaykum assalâm slm

The correct way to read it is :

َAssalâmu 'alaykum = السلام عليكم = Peace be upon you (You know, it's like "Hi")
Wa 'alaykumu-ssalâm = و عليكم السلام = And upon you be the peace ("Hi" - The answer of the first "Hi")
Wa-ssalâmu 'alaykum = و السلام عليكم = And peace upon you (It's like "Bye")

The translation is somehow word by word, the "wa" means "and".
