yes Zildjian are the name of a brand of cymbals (of which I have 8). The company is about 400 years old.

They come from Constantinople (now called Instanbul), and are now made worldwide.

thanks for your help guys.

I found this: It is the Turkish alphabet

My guess now is that it says Constantinople in Turkish.

You are right, that's why I sais that it's not an Arabic word, and does'nt mean Constantinople, because the Arabic name of Constantinople is :القسطنيطينية

What does the "k" in K.ZILDJIAN mean? maybe the texte mean it!! I don't know.

Thank you for the Turkish Alphabet

One of the founders of the company was called Kerope Zildjian. Hence K. Zildjian.

Not easy... They changed their alphabet long ago :-)
Thumbs up for finding this Turkish alphabet, I somehow new that they once used the Arabic writing system in turkey, but I couldn't find it!!

For those interested, this is a good article (in French) regarding linguistic reform in Turkey: Turquie: la révolution linguistique d'Atatürk
