hey, actually i am egyptian , so i already speak arabic,, i dont know how it feels when u learn arabic , how hard is it for u ? do u learn certain dialect , or only fosha? and how about the franco arab (writting) ,
sometimes i think that if u began with learning a dialect u would find it easier to continue with learning fosha ,, , but may be i am saying this , cuz here for example we speaking egyptian dialect , and we learned fosha , so i didnt begin directly with fosha .
what do u think?

Hello!

I'm learning Modern Arabic at university (I began last September). I think it is better to learn modern arabic first, especially if you do not have in mind to travel in a particular country. I think modern/classical arabic is harder to learn than the dialects. But once you've learned it, it will be easier to learn the dialects. If you don't I don't think it's a big issue 'cause most are learning modern arabic at school.

For the writing, I do not have any problem with it, but I get confuse when people are writing arabic with the latin alphabet.

السلام عليكم
I think that learn classical arabic is better, because if you travel to any arabic country, people can understand you, and also you can read books, because they all are written in classical arabic.

If you need any help, we are here for you!

Good luck
