about wanting what you can't have

Hi all,

I invite you to share your opinions on people that keep wanting what they can't possibly have.

Are they just stubborn or plainly blind?
Is it, from their part, a loss of time and energy that could be better and wiser spent or, perhaps, a strong belief in chance, faith, God?
Is their will misleading them?

And last but not least... have you ever been in this position?

From my psychological point of view, this situation is very comlexed.
One for sure - the desire to have something, even something which is out of this world, is not bad itself. As a wish it can be a kind of a very good stimulant. And this is a good side of it with no doubt. We all have our dreams, and if we are also able to think about it as about a dream only, there's nothing to be worried about. But as a kind of an obsession, it is to be fight with help of a personalized therapy, sometimes even with e.g. tranquilizers. It is all about the source of this desire, and the way to make it come to the reality. If someone would like to travel space, and we know it is impossible (which still is, for some people), but this person takes is "for real" it is something we should be concerned about. It may be even a beginning of a psychotic process. I do not see the reason to feel the same about the people who e.g. wish to have a Rolls-Royce, and realize that it is just a wish. I would like to have it to, but I'm aware that my income is just too short at the moment. I hope there's nothing wrong with me...

Most of the time,i want what i can not reach.Even my future plans look impossible for now.But i can not give up them.They give me courge to study or live.Because hope is not a bad thing.It is necessary!

just believe in it hard enough and it will come true...

dreams give us great power sometimes and things that seem impossible can be very easy finally

I think,without dreams or hopes a person is nothing.Because there will be no reason to live then.
