Default Love your language! ?

I found a very interesting slogan :

LOVE YOUR LANGUAGE!

Do you love your language? And if YES/NO why?

hi,
actually i don't really love "my" language (german) because it is kind of techical, monotonous, rough and cold. sure, there are love poems but the touching ones are in ancient german (and still, i prefer the ones in french, italian, arabic..) but in our time, there are so many things i can't express as i want to in german.

anyone here to defend our language? and what about you oana, do you love yours?

I may say with pride,
I love my language!

There is a saying (outspoken by Leo Tolstoy), "The Russian language is great and mighty". And I totally agree with that statement. Russian gives us verily great opportunity to express EVERY our feeling or thought. It often allows us to express extremely complicated ideas with such an accuracy, that we do not have to use any additional words to explain.

I don't love my language (Dutch), but I don't hate it, either. If you look at it technically, it is not that hard to learn, I think, especially if you know another Germanic language.
And furthermore I think it also depends on the dialect you speak. For example, I like the Limburg dialect because it sounds softer and less rough than regular Dutch.
I have some trouble expressing myself, but that is more my fault than that of the Dutch language. I'm just used to English :P

Really nice answers, to be honest I was not expecting to get any "negative" replies...My native language is Romanian, and yes I LOVE MY LANGUAGE . But I also find the other languages to be very interesting and I would love to be able to speak as many languages as possible. I think German sounds really nice, I like it and whenever I get the opportunity I practice it. I believe you should be very proud of your native language and praise it whenever you can.

Here comes another question for you :

"What is it that you like most about your native language?"

What do I like about Romanian? Well, being my native language I can express my feelings...my desires...my thoughts... And...very important...the grammar is based on the Latin Grammar...which makes it easy for us to learn other languages that have the same roots.

I speak polish. Do I love it? Well, in fact, I do not believe in love, but I have no feelings about my language. I don't know, do I like it, or not. It just depends...

Languages are beautifull, I apreciate hearing different languages, but I eally don't like to not understand, the 1st language I spoke was Moroccan, it's not a language that can express every thing, but it's the language of every day, no need for specific words or a real grammar to talk, so it's like an easy language that we do with it usual things and a language that resume phrases in words sometimes and that a good thing for "a fast conversation" , but I love Arabic, it's a very rich language, for me it was the first real language, I think what's beautifull in a language is the how much you feel it and understand it, and Arabic for me is a simple, deep and clear language.
