Is there an universal aim that animates each of us within its existence? If not, it's the unity of human kind that is broken and lost, as one's life cannot be understood by another. Besides, must this goal also be defined as the cause of our lives, in an Aristotelician way?

I can think about one thing now: "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life"...
But if we omit the humorous part of my answer - live itself has no meaning at all. We live just like the other creatures... But we are also the owners of the most powerful brain on this globe, so I see no obstructions to create our own meaning. There is no universal meaning. Protagoras is right about one thing for sure: " man is the measure af all things"... So...the rest is silence... |
