Yes, I agree with you brionon. We can be totally free only without the religious point of view. We need to be good just for the goodness itself. If we are good only because of the (implicit) absence of God we are very selfish... And the goodness is just the top of the matter...

Didn't Kant proove in the Kritik der reinen Vernunft that the question of God's existence has no answer, since both the opposite ones (yes/no) can be admitted? Then, he shows that His existence is made necessary by a moral law : we have to hope our soul could experiment happiness, if we have to act well.
Then we don't have to ask "Does God exist?", but "Why should He?". That is to say "Could we do without him?". I believe we can... (to be continued) |

Hey, guys I think this is a good moment to agree to disagree. Nothing personal, but for me trying to explain God to someone so earthbound is like explaining a cube to a square. If God for you does not exist why do you have to oppose me in my belief, isn't it a free choice? Isn't the goal for each man to be happy in the end. And if you are well wishing than you should simply share my happiness as another human being. I mean we are on the opposite view point, but well if you are comfortable there, than it's just fine by me. I only wish to share my faith with those who are interested or not yet decided.
