Zaide
Hi there,
could anybody tell me the meaning of the name Zaide?  It is the name of a caracter in the book I am reading and he is a Moor. I would like to know the meaning of the name since I need it for a literary analysis.Thank u in advance  |

Zaide is from (zâda = added , yazeedo, zaydane), it carry the meaning of increase If you understand Arabic : قد تخفف الهمزة فيقال: (زايد) وفي الزيادة ما يوجب شكر المنعم، واعتراف بالكثرة و(زائدة) مؤنث زائد، والجميع يعرفون من ابن زائدة و(زياد) و(زيادة) يحملان نفس المعنى اما (ذوالزوائد) فهو لقب الاسد ويبقى (زيد) و(زيدان) من الاسماء المثناه و(زيدون) من الاسماء التي تأتي على صيغة جمع المذكر وهى مفردة وكلها توحي بالزيادة والاعتراف بالنعمة فزيد مصدر زاد يزيد زيدا ولقد سمت العرب (زيد اللات) وسموا (زيادا) و(مزيدا (
