poem by Saadi Yousouf

Hello everybody,

I've tried to transcribe a poem by Saadi Yousouf that could be listened to in our library, but I'm not sure about one or two things * have been looking for but haven't found it on the net. So maybe if someone could help me out here?

I think the title is

الحرية

وحدك وأنت الحر
تخترُ سماءا فتسميها
سماءا وتسكن فيها
سماءا وترفضها
لكن عليك
لكي تعرف أنك حر
وتظل الحر
أنت تثبت من موطن الأرض
كي ترتفع الأرض
كي تمنح أبناء الأرض
أجنحة

So I'm not sure about the title,and about the line
أنت تثبت من موطن الأرض
the translation (in Dutch) of which went like this :
"You (have to) stand on the earth selfconsciously"

are you sure it is تثبت and not تنب the second word make more sense !!!!!

تختارُ سماءً فتسميها
وسماءٍّ تسكنُ فيها
وسماءِّ ترفضُها...
لكن عليك، لكي تعرف أنك حرُّ
وتظلَّ الحرّ...
أن تتثبتَ من موطئ أرضٍٍ here it means to stand firm from a foothold but here the poet refers to it as earthhold
كي ترتفع الأرضْ
كي تمنح أبناء الأرضْ
أجنحةِّ...

do u need the translation in English , I can try doing that if you need it

Hello Nani,

Thanks for the help. Seems I hadn't done too bad after all,
though I need some working on spellingrules of the hamza,
apparently it's
سماءٍّ
instead of
سماءا

And thanks for the offer, but I already had a Dutch translation, so you needn't bother.
