Hello everyone,

I would like to know the difference between “Ahmad” and “Ahmed” in Egyptian.

Can anybody explain it to me, please? Or maybe what do these names mean?

When I browsed the meaning of this name, I found:

Ahmad, Ahmed - Most highly adored, or most praised; variation of the name "Muhammad".

Ahmad or Ahmed, it's absolutely the same thing, it's just a slight difference in prunounciation, there is one only way to write it in Arabic letters.

Thank you very much for your reply.

The meaning of the name is really interesting, because we can see some resemblances in portuguese and arabic writing (Ahmad / Amado = Adored / Loved). That´s what I thought at first, but I wasn´t sure.

Yes, I intend to know more your culture and language. I´ll post more questions when I need it. Thanks once more .

So "amado" comes from the verb like in "te amo" My head still spins when it comes to making the difference between Brazilian Portuguese and the one in your country.

Yes, that´s right "Amado" comes from the verb "Amar" (To Love) and it can be an adjective, a noun or the past participle of the verb.

There are differences between them but it´s okay... we can understand each other .
