Hi !

I wonder if there is any rule how to extract root consonsant from a word.
Although I have read that some words have 4-letter roots, I believe
mudarris is not one of them (or i am wrong, so it is m-d-r-s ?)

the root of mudarris is d-r-s
mudarris means teacher. it is the (subject noun) taken from the past verb darras which means taught. it is clear that the root of darras is d-r-s

If you want to get the root of a word, you look at the past verb of that word. Most past verbs are roots.

I know the root of darasa, I just don't know when I see the word
like mudarris, how would i know that it comes from is darasa
(it can be from fixtional word mudar as well So I need to know each
word for itself ? Or I can look the word backward and take last three consonants ?
How about roo7 (soul) ? Is it only r-h ?

For certain words it is a little bit difficult to get the root. Especially if you know nothing about the word.
you should knwo first that mudarris is a (subject noun). then you can get the past verb from that noun which is darasa. or you eleminate the extra litters in mudarris. In order to eleminate the extra litters you should know the (patern) of the word. in this case the (patern) of
ãÏÑÓ
is
ãÝÚá .
then you take the corresponding litters of
ÝÚá
if 3 litters or
ÝÚáá
if 4 litters.

I may confused you but I belive it is not an easy thing even for arab.
words between brakets I dont khow their exact meaning in english.
