السلام عليكم و رحمة الله وبركته
I know Qiryat is a village, what is Arba, is it four? Then the meaning would be "Village of the Four"? Then if it is true four what? People, rivers, mountains, trees etc.? We have discussions about it with my friends who also study Arabic... شكراً جزيلاً لكم و مع السلامة |

how are you ? Kiryat Arba or Qiryat Arba is an Israeli settlement in Southern West Bank, adjoining the city of Hebron ( Alkhaleel الخليل ). The Hebrew name means "Town of the Four [Giants]", and transliterated in Standard Hebrew as Qiryat Arba. The equivalent Arabic name is قرية أربع Qiryat Arba. So, this is not Arabic Abu-dana, this name is Hebrew. |

Thank you, Nani... So, it's a Hebrew name, eh? And the word Qaryat means village in Arabic very close to Hebrew, right? |
