Hi mansio, Ezzayak is an Egyption word, and is derived from the word * Ezzay* which means * how* in English. am not sure but am thinking of the letter (K) and I can say that i Arabic it is usually added to refer to the * you* , like ketabak = your book, kalamak = your pen, Ebnak = your son and so on. Ezzayak also is a shortening to the phrase Ezzay elhal .. which means , how are you also. This is all what i can think of .. i hope this could answer your question. I think that "ez-" is the article "al" or "el" assimilated to "zay" (which I don't know what it means) and "-ak" of course is "you" or "of you".
On the model of "keyf Halek" (how is your "state") it is possible that a preceding word is dropped. It could then be short for "kayf ezzayak". I even thought that ezz could be derived from 3uzz (strength) but that wouldn't account for the "y". |
