mohammed is an unknown character at this point mohammed is an unknown character at this point
Default Arabic to English ( word اِنْهزَمَ )

I need help with translating the following

I'm looking for an exact / accurate translation of this

Also can the word اِنْهزَمَ mean 'retreat' ?

I would appreciate some help in translation of the above

Thankyou

Well, wat you pasted here looked like a dictionary entry..

I would take that verb as "to loose"..Like in a war for example. Id' rather say to "defeat".

It gives you the verb "inhazam", and then the root "h-z-m"..Verb of five letters..And show you the nature of the verb.
You also have the conjugation: past and present, and the noun.

And an example :" The Portuguese army was defeated in the "wadee al makhaazen" combat" : To be broken, and lose its strength and weapons.

"The (sportive) team was defeated" : To loose a game.

Hope that I helped.

اِنْهزَمَ = to lose
I don't think it's that complicated, to lose is the closest.
to retreat doesn't mean to lose or اِنْهزَمَ because you may retreat as a strategy in a war without losing it.
So in order to get an accurate meaning we need the context, but for right now (to lose) would do!
to retreat = اِنْسَحَبَ, تَرَاجَعَ
