Hmmm... My husband is Arab (part Berber), I'm Korean and we have two children. I've never experienced any negative response from Arabs, not even a drop. Quite the opposite, more like "Mashallah"!!! I have a hard time believing that a child who is half European or American would be stigmatized in any Arab culture simply because of the 'mixture'. I also doubt it would be evident based on physical features. The child's history would have to be known by the locals, even then I don't think it would be a 'stigma'. I suggest being very cautious about applying American notions about 'race' and mixed children into the script.
The story sounds interesting from what little you've said about it. I really think this is one of the best forums to receive openminded constructive feedback. |
