Default English to Swedish

Hi guys
I would like to say something to my Swedish girlfriend but i'm not sure what would be good things that would strike a cord with a Swedish girl. Does anybody know any? Of course, maybe i am asking to secret to every mans success here so lets just go for some very basic things first, for example:

"How is your day going so far?"

"Fine"

"You are looking very nice"

"What are you doing this weekend?"

If anyone can think of anything better then this i'd be glad to hear it, my mind has drawn a blank all of a sudden!

Looking forward to anything our Swedish community has to offer.

Don't worry, i'm trying to learn a little here and there....

Regards to all

Melbar

Hey

Boy, am I going to feel stupid if you've broken up with your Swedish girlfriend...but here goes the translation anyway. I don't know if you have a distance relationship but I'll add in some phrases I think might be of help if you have a "normal" relationship.

"How is your day going so far?"
Hur har din dag varit?
or a similar one "Has your day started off well?"
Har din dag börjat bra?

"Fine"
Bra
Very good
Jättebra

"You are looking very nice"
Du är jättefin.
"You are beautiful"
Du är vacker (might be good to know her a little before saying that one :D)

"What are you doing this weekend?"
Vad ska du göra i helgen? or Vad gör du i helgen?
"What did you do last weekend?" (classic chit-chat line among Swedes it seems)
Vad gjorde du i helgen?

"Do you want to..." might be a good one to know since it can be combined
Vill du...
"Go to the movies"
...gå på bio
"go get something to eat"
...gå ut och äta något
"Go to my/your place?"
...dra hem till mig/dig

In my opinion, the words that make the greatest impression on a girl are those that come instinctively and are truly yours, but of course it's good to know some standard phrases. Just stay away from clichés! hehe. Don't go learning things like "Roses are red and violets are blue" so you can whisper them in her ear. :D Those things have been overused and weren't even interesting to begin with...
If you don't know how to say things in perfect Swedish, try to make yourself understood best you can, or you can always speak English. If she's a nice girl she'll understand the good intentions behind your words...
Good luck and I hope you're still dating!

"Sminkets liv", au cas ou t'aurais pas vu mon message. Ca ferait plaisir si tu pouvais me préciser le contexte pour que je puisse être sûr d'avoir bien traduit.
