hi everybody,
i know that christmas is for christians but my family and i we put the christmas tree and celebrate christmas although we are muslims and new year too i dont see a problem in celebrating that. but there are some people who told me that the new year is not for muslims because we have our own muslim year "hijriya" and that it's not allowed for us to celebrate christams because its story is against "the koran" but it's such a lovely day and we got used to it ,moreover my mother is dutch and she converted to islam 4 years ago, she cant just throw away her traditions.....or do we have to stop celebrating christams and the new year ?im talking about the muslims who are celebrating it too but me i cant stop it because i know that i dont believe in it i just celebrate it because i like it that's all !!!!! |

i dont find it true that muslims celebrate the christmas. Because that is not our religious feast. but we can celebrate the new year.
On the other hand ,you are in a different state. Because your mother used be a christian. she had a different religion culture and different traditions.it must be hard to give up them suddenly.
