Islam is a religion of equality, justice and peace.
It is also true as what you described that men and women have their rights that suit their gender. Even children have rights in Islam.
When Islam is a religion of equality it does not mean that a woman should act like a man or exactly like a man.. Gender is ascribed that cannot be changed but in order to achive justice, equality must be obtained or maintained like same ranking system...like man and restraint for both man and woman in Islam is Allah's preference.
But of course the modestly of a woman is by the way she dressed herself up and through h

Nuns have a choice in whether they want to become nuns or not. It's not a requirement of the Catholic religion or any country that I'm aware of.

It doesn't bother me in countries like the US where the church is separated from religion because I know if that woman really hates her life because of it, she can leave it behind and start her own version of Islam if she really wants to. I don't think that's the case in a lot of Middle Eastern territories.

what do you know about the middle eastern territories?
there is a lot of none veiled women in Syria, Jordany, palestine and especially Lebanon, and i can assure you that the veiled girls chose to wear hijab as in my country
muslim women and i'm one don't hate her life because of islam be sure

Well I personally think Muslim women are liberated and the oppressed are those with half nude body.

Muslim women cover themselves well because they are like a crown that can only bee seen by certain people.Compare a half nude woman and a Muslim woman.Which do you prefer to be your wife? If I were a man I don't like men on the street to see my wife as a sex object. There should be something precious just belong to the husband.(too sad these days women get laid so easily)

Muslim woman have drives to take them every where but non muslim women must drive in the hot sun and do everything by herself.

Muslim women have servants to serve them but non Muslim women hardly have money to even buy their own cloths.

last but not least..Muslim women are like the Queen staying inside being preserved but non Muslim women are just on the street all the time.

Why don't u visit any of the Arab countries and see for yourselves how the Muslim women are being treated.

Your ears might hear everything but your mind should digest the information well.Do not judge till you see for yourselves.
