Paganism wasn't gone, though. I'm in the eyes of religious people a unbeliever. But I have my own vision and ideas about things that we can't know for sure. Why should you judge about something that depends of the vision individual? The point of view is different, so you can't say what you think of paganism because it isn't a directly perception.

hey maillard,

You should know that paganism covers a huge area of spiritualism (I guess it's like saying what do you think of monotheism - that covers Christianity, Islam etc.

monotheists like Muslims and Christians use it as a pejorative for people who don't worship their 'one god'

France is a part of Europe's catholic bloc so I don't know what the spiritual situation is like with you. In the USA and Britain the majority of people 'aren't religious' or are struggling to fill a gap left by religion.

So people are looking for ways to fill that gap by experimenting with 'new age' religion like Wicca etc or trying something exotic (there was a huge Buddhist craze a few years ago.) Either way, for most people it's just a cheap thrill that they won't stick to.

On the other hand you have people who adhere to beliefs which are classified as pagan in a serious way, for them I guess it's just as acceptable as Judaism, Christianity etc.

I think like all 'religion' as long as it doesn't hurt anyone or oppress people who don't want/ need it is fine.

By the way Robin what's 'vive le Peuple' all about? Sounds kinda random

So Anything,

France is a laic land, and this land has officiely no religion. In fact, French are catholic, protestant, muslim, jewish, atheist, or anything else. Of course, there is a majority of catholics, but, a lot of French don't go to religious cult... About paganism in France, a great part of french doesn't know the "newpaganism", but it's really present, I can send you this adress (sorry, it's only in french...) : LAPF - Libre Assemblée Païenne Francophone - Paganisme LAPF is the "free french-speaking pagan assembly" (Libre Assemblée Païenne Francophone).

Like you, I think all religion, wich is no extremist, is ok. So, by the way, I'm against no religion, just against extremism...

'Vive le peuple'... Maybe can I translate by "Live the Populate"? (I'm not sure if it's good in english...)

Robin

(sorry for my "bad" english )
