Hi to all, I hope anyone out there can give their suggestions.
me and a friend (we are 2 girls) plan to go on holiday to Istanbul and 2 other European cities. we are from asia so a trip to europe is a big deal for us we have 2 weeks of leave from work and we have no idea what will be a good mix of countries to go in one trip. Istanbul is a must cos we wanna meet up with some friends there, after that...? we r thinking of france or germany, but can only afford one or two other cities to have a meaningful visit. appreciate if anyone could offer suggestions if u have vsited some nice places in europe that are worth a mention and easy to go to from istanbul. Thank u v much, Merci beaucoup, Tesekkurler, Danke Shoen ~: ) nur from singapore |

Well,if you ask me,after you visit Istambul you should visit Athens(it's not far away)or Sofia. I also recommmend you Sibiu(Romania) which is the European Cultural Capital this year.

Two places in Europe to visit.. hmm, that's a tough one. The cultural differences are ofcourse major, and it really depends on what you want to do. Do you prefer to spend one week in a place (which doesn't has to be city, can also be.. somewhere in the nature, such as the Alps.. mountains
) where you can enjoy the nature etc or do you want to do the 'citytrip'-journey? Assuming you're going for the last.. well, just list up all the major capital cities, and think it over. I'm not very familiar with eastern europe, but in western europe you might want to try out cities like: - London (Capital city of Great-Brittain) - Paris (France) - Berlin (Germany) - Amsterdam (The NetherlandS) - Rome (Italy) From what I've heard, London is quite a nice city to visit, never been there myself. Same for Paris.. might even go to Disneyland one day while you're there. I've been to Berlin this spring, and it's a nice city but it's mostly cultural stuff, so if you're interested in history (Fall of the Berlin Wall etc) you'll love it. But London and Paris are way more trendy in my opinion. I live in The Netherlands, Amsterdam is our capital.. well, I wouldn't waste your time here. Ofcourse, it's okay, but not really thát cool.. Rome seems cool to me, although a bit cultural-ish. Going there next year. I hope this helps you a bit. Ofcourse there's is North Europe (Sweden, Finland, Norway etc) and East europe, and south europe as well (spain, portugal) but that aren't my fields of expertise, heheh. If you have any questions, let me know. ;-) |
