It is great to hear where everyone is. Sometimes you guys do not state in the avatar or profile and so it leaves everyone wondering where in the world you are!

Its also nice to see if we can describe our cities or towns. I personally am in a very cosmopolitan section of Houston, Texas. I used to work in Downtown which is another very busy section of the city. Beautiful modern buildings and fun nightlife with trendy nightclubs and restuarants. In fact just this evening I am attending a very nice elegant evening with friends and business associates in downtown. I have a good imagination and try to picture how the other person describes where they are. Its fun!

Perhaps one day I can send photos so all of you can see how pretty our big city is.

I wish I were on a beach right now of course and not working! Hah, hah!

Nice of you to respond. I speak to a friend (amico) in Roma and he tells me that in Italia you learn English/Inglese in the schools at an early age. That is good.

I hope you can understand me?

Here in USA when I was very young they only teached English/Inglese to us children. I know English, Spanolo and some Italino. Maybe you too can help me to learn better Italiano.

I live in yamanashi-ken (山梨県) in Japan. It's a prefecture a bit south-west of Tokyo.

I'm thinking I might want to move to the city, because there are no young people out in the country here! Plus I better run away before my Japanese completely turns into the local dialect. (which is not considered 'cool' like the kansai dialect)

That is great to hear! Here where I am is the big city. I enjoy visiting the country sometimes but would not like living there. Even though it is nice and quiet, I would miss the excitement and fun in the big modern city. I am in Houston, Texas USA and we are a very cosmopolitan and International city. I used to also live in Los Angeles, California near the beach. There is where I really loved the ocean and fun lifestyle. Most young people would not be happy in the country that is why many go to schools in the bigger cities. They get to meet others that are of same age and same interests. I can try to help anyone that needs some help in English. It just takes practice. If I were you I would try to see American movies and magazines. Take care!

Well there are no American[English] magazines where I am, but I do see Japanese films and drama and English films and drama in about equal amounts.

I'm also playing the final fantasy series, some in Japanese and some in English.

The only English I get exposed to is American English, so mine is going a bit American!

For the first 6 months I didn't use a word of English, and I actually started to forget! Every month or so I'd call my family and I'd occasionally accidentaly reply to a question in Japanese!
