Hi! I am a French speaker and I would like to know if a lady bug or lady-bird is know to be God's bug in English as it is in French. Please write me if you have ever heard of anything like this and where you are from. Thanks a lot.

Thank you very much for this detailed answer! I was actually trying to translate: bête à bon Dieu. I supposed that if I want to demonstrate God's relation to the bug I should use capital letters. (LadyBird) Thank you again. Vie

I am not a native, so I'm not sure of what I'm about to say, but there may be a reference to God in ladybug/bird, since a phrase such as "Notre-Dame" is said "Our Lady" in English. So maybe the reference is no to God, but to Mary.

It's just an idea I had while reading your last post.
