Hi, everybody,

I have some stupid question which I can't figure out: If I'm joining a tour and bringing my child with me, plus another adult, should I bring a briefcase or should I carry a backpack? I've never brought a briefcase when touring and I was never with my child before. Could someone advise me? The duration is 7-8 days, may cover 3-4 countries. The most difficult task is with the escalators and stairs, as far as I can remember.

Other questions out of curiosity: I've found many tours are named after the Da Vinci Code, meaning EXTRA-EXTRA-EXPENSIVE. Are there already tourists lining up at "The Last Supper" and counting the no. of triangular panes of the pyramids?

For your first quesiton I owuld definitely advice a back pack. As soon as you are taking the subway or anything, whatever the city and coutry you'll have tens of steps to go through... and oyu'll have your arms free to carry the girl... just in case

as for the other quesiton I just don't know

Thanks for yr very prompt reply. If I'm with a tour, I don't think I'll have to carry my briefcase or backpack travelling in metros, but the escalators at the airports are my concerns, if it means several countries and several air trips.

Tell me if you do see pilgrims to the Louvre.

I did see "pilgrims" last time I went there, i.e. in April. It was amazing to watch them counting... all the more when you know that Dan Brown's book is full of mistakes, lies and fantasms...!

Hi, Lina,

Thanks for yr information. I am just curious. If I go with a tour, staying in France for 2 days, I don't think I have time for the Louvre anyway, but I'd be interested in seeing the pilgrims. I'd read The Da Vinci Code from the beginning to the end, then I visted his website and had a look at his picture, and convinced myself his book was not to be trusted. There'll definitely be a lot more pilgrims this summer!

I was mentioning my interest in going to Europe this summer, and my dad would like to join. He's 80, I hope the airline companies will let him get on the plane. But I'm wondering if I should delay my trip to September, since I 'll save money then, but my child's school will have started then.

So Dan Brown has ruined my plans this summer!

We've joined a tour and will be setting off soon. Another stupid question: Is it necessary to wear sunglasses on a snow mountain? I've heard you'll get blind if you don't wear one. I'll wear one and get one for my daughter, but I need to convince my dad and get him one.
