Do you think automatic translation softwares can replace translators in the near future, doing say 90% of the translation, leaving 10% for human correction?

Seems almost impossible in the next 20 years. There many things computers cannot manage, for example: implicit meaning or specific word association that may give specific hidden meaning or let certain people think in a certain way... I guess we first would have to understand how our brain works and manage languages before trying to make computers do the same work...
and bear in mind that even though translation can be very close to original there are always imperceptible changes

Thanks, Nadine. I've tried the link but the website doesn't seem to be working properly. I had to click on the button numerous times before it worked, but most of the time it didn't. When it did, it said the program wasn't working properly and asked me to come back after a coffee break.

translation software are doing good a job especially the professional ones, they can make the life of a translation easier, but they cannot replace him yet, they're like kids they need to be supervised, some very good software need only slight modifications to be done to the text they translated, which is good, but like FD said 20 years or more, or may be never who knows.
