Arabic is the most soothing language, I heard some pagans converted to Islam as they heard the beautiful sound of recited Quran.

Besides that, I Like English because it is our international Langauge..

I lke german because it sound so good to me and it's got some similarities to my Mother-tongue that english does not...

last but not least, Persian, 'cuz it's got some nice grammar...

I understand this discussion as being about how a language sounds (to the ears), not about its grammar or its social influence.

I don't want to sound like blindly defending my mother tongue, but sir..If you noticed, in this thread people list languages that they find mostly beautiful, not the ones they "dislike". The adjective "ugly" doesn't really fit there, as it's an insult to a whole culture.
And if you don't like it, why do you strive to "understand" it then?

I agree with you,
For example I don't like french at all, but I don't let myself to say it's bad or ugly...

I am sorry if I hurt some persons but this is a discussion about opinions. People who speak languages that will never be mentioned among the best sounding ones could also start complaining.

As I was embarrassed by the number of languages that I find nice sounding I took the problem by the other end.

I must add that French, my mother language, is not in that group as I feel I have not the "distance" to judge it.

On the other hand, I put my second mother language Alsatian in the bottom of the list with some other languages I won't mention.
