any topic....
Reviews, impressions, criticisms, praise and personal judgments...and also the language you have read it! I start with my latest 3: Daisy Miller by Henry James: read in English. A fine novel not too long....but I'm not pleased by the ending!! ![]() Il sogno di Humboldt (Humboldt's gift) by Saul Bellow: read in Italian. An amazing and funny novel that describes the double portrait of artists in North America, I really appreciate it! However the style it's wrote is too disarming and....without interruptions!! Il maestro e Margherita by Michail Bulgakov: read in Italian. It's my favourite book indeed! I'm enthusiastic of its complicated and zany plot! And I love its surprising ending! By Bulgakov I've read also "Cuore di Cane": really interesting funny and fluent novel... I think Bulgakov is brilliant! And you? Last edited by valanika; 09-02-2009 at 02:27 PM. |

None of those writers ring me a bell....I'm not a regular reader I must admit
.....Don't know why, but I 've just thought about Dino Buzzati and one of his book titled 'Le K'....I read it when I was a teenager ...A long time ago

good....I've read only "la famosa invasione degli orsi in sicilia" by Buzzati....but long time ago me too! I really don't remember if I've liked it!
Recently I've read "l'eleganza del riccio" (L’Élégance du hérisson ) by Muriel Barbery....she is French, you know? I didn't like the way it speaks about philosopy...but I've to admit that the story is immersive, and the ending surprising! On the whole I liked it! |
