Oh.i've just notice this thread! Great!

Well, i am reaing a Turkish novel called 'Neva' by Ilgın Olut nowadays.I don't think anyone knows him because he is not even so famous in Turkey.I don't like the subject of the book.It is all about love...lol.But, the speaking way is good!

Also, i won't go without saying my fave two books. They are A Thousand Splendid Suns and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.I loved these books a lot.I read each book only in one day. They are so impressive! I can read them again and again

During the summer holidays I had some time to read and read the following books:I started with Slumdog Millionaire by Vikas Swarup. I liked the book. The idea of the plot and how to develop it is great and the book is easy to read. However, sometimes it was a bit too predictible and the ending was way too 'happy end' for me. Also the division of characters in good and bad is quite stereotypical. They seem to be either good or bad and nothing in between. Therefore - after finishing the book - I thought I had to read some more 'sophisticated' books about India. So I read 'The God of Small Things' by Arundhati Roy, which I liked a lot. It had some great foreshadowing techniques and the story was quite focused and therefore easy to follow. Now I thought it was about time to read 'Midnight's children' by Salman Rushdie. It was hard work to read the book. It has quite a complicated plot and a lot of charcaters to follow with some of them changing names throughout the story. Therefore I cannot really say that I liked the book. However, I can say that I have read it. That's something, too.

In school I'm reading 'The curios incident with the dog at nighttime' by Mark Haddon with a class of future early-childhood teachers. The book is about Christopher who as a slight form of Autism. He has to solve the case of a dog murder. During the story he discovers the secret about his mother and has to overcome his anxieties. Great book which gives insides into the inner world aof people with Asperger Syndrome. Incidentally it happens that I have a student with Asperger Syndrome in another class. So the book helps me to understand this student in a better way.
