I learn Chinese in Beijing Chinese School. Tone is a little difficult for me. I like to learn in live class with teachers from Beijing directly. I also like to practice mandarin with volunteers freely everyday. Watching Chinese learning TV on CLTV is also interesting and helpful to practice listening and learn more about Chinese culture.

You are definitely right, focusing on the pronunciation is key if you want to succeed in learning Chinese.
