very interesting lesson, it would be super nice if you include the way to say the greetings, I still can't read Chinese characters, so if you can write them in latin alphabet like:
恭喜 gōng xi Congratulations thank you!

Chinese pinyin pronounces alittle different from latin ones.
like Chinese vowel e in me, ne, re is not like me, ne, re of latin languages, for example, 什么(Shen4Me), is alittle like Shen Mo in latin spellings, but simply you cannot pronounce the second syllable Me as English "me /mi/" but soft /mo/. But anyway the Chinese 摸(Mo1) is not like 么(Me), in pronoucing the latter, you should not keep the mouth form as long as the former, because the latter is so short that you even don't know whether it's Mo or Me. The "e" in Chinese "Me" can be equivalent to English e in English "translate", which is silent all the way, so when you see Chinese pinyin, ne, me, re, you can almost ignore the "e" in them and singlely pronounce the starting consonants, that's it! But anyway 热(Re1) is not easy for you as foreigner to follow in pronunciation. But it's alittle like French "Je" plus a prolonged "Je", when pronoucing the 热(Re1), you simply are like prolonging "Jeeeee", so note it! |
