Olá,

This is something I like a lot, that you can choose what to study (apart from some basic obligatory subjects). Here, when you want to study English, for example, you have to attend physics, chemistry, biology, etc. till the very end of your high school. There is strict group of subjects and you can't do anything to modify it. Of course, when you choose EN, you have more lessons on this subject and a bit less of the rest but it's still there.
I support so-called general knowledge but doing all the subjects means that, in the end, you are not good at anything.
The same goes to university - you can choose only a foreign language (of course there was no PT at my university!). The rest is just there for you, made of 'concrete'.

Education is a huge room for improvement...
