In Russia it depends on a certain region, though everywhere the most important one is English. They also often teach German and French at schools. Maybe now it is going to change somehow.

I. The rating of foreign languages in Runet according to the number of queries about a certain language.

1. English 181,900 queries per month.
2. German 36,840.
3. French 21,960.
4. Spanish 12,290.
5. Italian 9,870.
6. Chinese 9,700.
7. Japanese 7,500.
8. Latin 7,065.
9. Ukrainian 6,090.
10. Turkish 5,650.

II. The rating of foreign languages in Runet according to the number of pages meeting the queries containing the phrase like "English translator is needed".

1. English 2,385 pages per month.
2. German 1,328.
3. Chinese 774.
4. French 715.
5. Italian 498.
6. Turkish 412.
7. Japanese 376.
8. Spanish 298.
9. Finnish 217.
10. Arabic 192.

here it's of course french, in all the universities and high schools we use french for study,
almost all the Tunisian speak french
so is this really a foreign language ?
english is really popular here too
french and english are obligatory here
and in the second year of high school we must choose between 3 languages "spanish, italian or german" in some schools they added japanese and chinese too
but i think italian is the third language after french and english in Tunisia
