Hello! I found a lovely song online, called "Aikoja entissia" (??) but I don't know a lick of Finnish beyond "terve", "poika" and couple of other words. Can someone do me a huge favor and:
a) listen to the song for me (I'll email it to you if you email me) b) write out the lyrics c) translate them into english and if possible d) tell me what dialect the song is in? I'm willing to offer any help in English or Russian in return. (If you're interested in contemporary Russian rock music, for instance, I can give you a tour, complete with mp3s, lyrics, translations and history.) Thanks! Exactly, that's how it starts! Yeah, it's really old - I found it in the sound archives of folk music of Finnish immigrants to the States.
I don't particularly care if anyone likes it or not. I'm not looking to share it with folk enthusiasts - I just need the translation and the lyrics, for a university project. |
