I'm a real rookie here so I don't know all of the proper forum etiquette. Forgive me if I'm doing this incorrectly.
I would like a web page translated. I'm pretty sure it's finnish based on the link to the Univ of Art and Design in Helsinki in the last sentence. I'd like to have it translated into english. I'm not looking for a word for word translation. Just what the person is saying. I'm especially interested in a sentence having to do with "womenfolk". That's all I could get from a free translation website. You know, not enough to understand, but enough to drive me crazy wondering what the rest of the sentence is? Here is the webpage: http://uberkuul.wordpress.com/2006/0...tteita-osa-11/ Any help anyone can give me would be really helpful! |

Title= essential accessories for progguitarists, vol 1/1.
(I don't know how to translate word "proge". Anyway I mean with "progguitarists" guitarists that play progressive rock.) It's a humorous column, which advertises racks for quitars (check links in the text). "Progemies, et voi metallijumalia vastaan määrällä etkä taidolla kilpailla. Kilpaile siis tyylillä." = "Progman, you can't compete with amount or skill against metalgods. So compete with style." I think that sentence is main message of the text. Text claims that with "Axe Totem"-quitarrack (is that even a word? o___O) you can be as good and popular as those who play metal. You can buy them from here: http://www.lwinters.com/ Edit/I don't understand what you mean by word "womenfolk". Maybe it's something about the thing text claims: with Axe Totem progquitarists get women. ((Damn my English sucks -____-; )) Last edited by mainde; 02-16-2006 at 02:57 PM. |

Mainde,
Thanks for letting know what the basics of the article were. Axe Totem is my company. I loved seeing the page because we're here in US and it's just cool, uberkuul really, to see it in a foreign language. But I wasn't sure if he was saying it was a stupid product or he liked it. Either way it was fun. But I'm glad to hear he liked it. When the free translator translated something into womenfolke, I thought maybe he had seen us at a huge music tradeshow we did last month. I think we were the only booth with all women in it.....except the playboy booth. So I was curious. Thanks again for your help. And your english was just fine to help me! Lido |
