Iubire, bibelou de porţelan, Obiect cu existenţa efemeră, Te regăsesc pe-aceeaşi etajeră Pe care te-am lăsat acum un an... Îţi mulţumesc!... Dar cum?... Ce s-a-ntâmplat?... Ce suflet caritabil te-a păstrat În lipsa mea, În lipsa ei, În lipsa noastră?... Ce demon alb, Ce pasăre albastră Ţi-a stat de veghe-atâta timp Şi te-a-ngrijit De nu te-ai spart Şi nu te-ai prăfuit?... Iubire, bibelou de porţelan, Obiect de preţ cu smalţul nepătat, Rămâi pe loc acolo unde eşti... Să nu te mişti... Şi dacă ne iubeşti - O!... dacă ne iubeşti cu-adevărat - Aşteaptă-ne la fel încă un an... Un an măcar... Atât... Un singur an... Iubire, bibelou de porţelan!... Amour...bibelot de porcelaine, Objet à l'existence éphémère, Je te retrouve sur la même étagère Où je t'avais laissé il y a un an... Îţi mulţumesc!... je te remercie..... Dar cum?... Ce s-a-ntâmplat?... Mais comment?....Que se passe t-il?... Ce suflet caritabil te-a păstrat Quelle âme charitable t-a gardé În lipsa mea, En mon absence, În lipsa ei, En leur absence, În lipsa noastră?... En notre absence?.... Ce demon alb, Quel démon blanc Ce pasăre albastră Quel oiseau oiseau d'azur (pour la poésie) Ţi-a stat de veghe-atâta timp T'a laissé en veille aussi longtemps Şi te-a-ngrijit Et a pris soin de toi De nu te-ai spart Et ne t'a pas cassé Şi nu te-ai prăfuit?... Et ne t'a pas réduit en poussière Iubire, bibelou de porţelan, Amour, bibelot de porcelaine, Obiect de preţ cu smalţul nepătat, Objet précieux à l'émail inaltéré Rămâi pe loc acolo unde eşti... Reste en place là où tu es... Să nu te mişti... Et ne bouge pas... Şi dacă ne iubeşti - Et si nous nous aimons O!... dacă ne iubeşti cu-adevărat - O !...si nous nous aimons vraiment Aşteaptă-ne la fel încă un an... Attendons de même encore un an... Un an măcar... Un an au moins... Atât... Au moins.... Un singur an... Une seule année... Iubire, bibelou de porţelan!... Amour, bibelot de porcelaine!...
