An friend of mine will be showing her artwork - wooden quilts- in Romania in May. She'd like to have her artist statement translated in Romanian. I would appreciate any help you could give me. Here is the passage:

Quilts have been part of my life since childhood. I grew up in West Texas with old barns, country churches, clear skies and big sunsets. My grandmother passed down her handmade quilts to my mother who then passed them down to me. These early impressions influence my painted constructions—wooden quilts.

Beyond my roots, patchwork quilts are a reflection of civilization itself. No one piece can ever be subtracted without forever compromising the integrity of the whole quilt. Diverse patterns made from rich, varied, quirky and flawed pieces, is precisely what makes a quilt magnificent. In these tumultuous times when ideas clash with cultures, who among us does not want the comfort of being tucked under the quilt of humanity?
