I don't know if you've arrived at a concluding answer to your questions or not, but after reading through the thread, I feel what is meant with the phrase saligheds sag is something along the lines of 'for the sake of salvation' or 'to salvations end'.
To do someone deceased a service to salvations end, would be doing something necessary for that someone to be saved, namely burying them through christian rites. There could also be more meaning behind the phrase when it is used in different ways. I will ask an elderly acqauintance, ho has done missionary work for many years. |

I just found a Danish dictionary entry for Saligheds Sag, but it's well... in Danish. Can any one please translate it for me. I would be extremely grateful.
