A ortografia é a parte da gramática que trata da correta escrita das palavras.

Alfabeto português

Nosso alfabeto é composto de 23 letras:

a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, x, z

Observação: Você deve estar se perguntando pelas letras W, Y e K.Elas não pertencem mais ao nosso alfabeto.São usadas apenas em casos especiais:

nomes próprios estrangeiros ( Wellington,Willian.... ),

abreviaturas e símbolos de uso internacional (K- potássio,Y-ítrio..),

palavras estrangeiras (show, play...)

1-alfabeto = alfa (a) + beta (b). As letras "a" e "b" são as duas primeiras letras do alfabeto grego.*

1.1 general notions noções gerais

When sounds and phones are written, they form letters.

According to "Orthographic Accord of the Portuguese Language (1990)", the Portuguese language is composed of 26 letters, i.e. a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j , k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y and z.

Of them, 3 letters k, w, and y can only be used on special occasions, for example, in alien words or abbreviations: darwinismo(darwinism); Pyongyang; km(quilómetro=kilometer). So the former orthographic accord only admitted 23 letters, plus 3 alien letters.

Every PT letter has its nomination, and some even has more than one. The "Orthographic Accord of the Portuguese Language (1990)" proposes the official nomination of letters in the alphabet set out in its Appendix I, and where notes that it does not exclude traditional nomination of some letters. In tradition, for example, w is also "duplo vê", and y "i grego".

The nomination of a PT letter may differ from the phone it represents. For example, o, named ó, can be pronounced [u]: médico, cozinha (kitchen).

Every PT letter has two forms as in CAPITAL and lower case, like a and A is the same word, but a is the lower case, and A capital.

Besides, PT letters are also differentiated as in print and script, i.e. a is lower case in print, while a is usually the lower case in script.

In Portuguese, the alphabet is alfabeto or abecedário. The former comes from Greek, alfa and beta are names of the first two letters of Greek; and the latter is originated from Latin, which is formed by the names of the first three letters of Latin alphabet.

Could someone tell me how to pronounce the consonant and vowels? Either relatively to French, English or Spanish...

Don't pronounce vowels at all and u r gonna produce perfect PT!

To be serious, PT vowels are tough, especially at the end of words. After few months of studying (with a native speaker) I managed to say grandma (avó) and grandpa (avô) correctly, being aware of which one I actually say

No matter how difficult it is, it's worthy learning this language and it is the most beautiful and original in the world!

Ok lol, I'll need patience to learn this languague. For me, it's no to hard understand it when written, because it is similar to spanish. Maybe I'll began this way and I will wait to learn the pronounciation. But there are so much languages I want to learn!!!
