Junine Feast is something not normally known by foreigners who, never been to Brazil, specially those ones who ever came here in the month of June. We make a big fire, and dances, music (specially folcloric), typical food and there is a decoration of colorful flags ( CLICK THE ATTACHMENT ON THE FLAGS AND MAKE IT LARGER ). Another intereting thing is that most people wear hillbilly fancies and straw hats and dance "QUADRILHA" a French dance which appeared at the end of the XVIII century with some old English traditions. It was brought to Brazil in the XIX century and danced in the court ball rooms and aristocracy. Depending on each region, something different is added to this party.
We celebrate Santo Antonio ( St. Antony), São Pedro (St. Peter), and SÃo João (St. John), which came from Portugal. Junine Feast starts on the 12/06
on Santo Antonio eve`s day and eds on the 24th.
Musics for that feast were recorded by Brazilian singers which made them more popular.
There are stands selling food like.. pop corn, peanuts,cuzcuz, fried chicken , polenta, and other dishes.
And candies like...
COCADA ( made with coconut)
PÉ DE MOLEQUE ( peanut candy- named "boy`s foot lol maybe cos it is dark and kids are always dirty lol)
DOCE DE ABÓBORA (squash candy)
CANJICA made of milk and grains with the name of the dish, and a traditional drink named
QUENTÃO ( very strong made of ginger - translation is BIG VERY HOT )
VINHO QUENTE - warm wine whith fruits inside which I JUST LOVE !!!!!!!!!!
ALL OF THOSE FOODS AND DRINKS ARE SUCH DELICIOUS and every Brazilian waits June month to eat such things.

RELEASING BIG BALLONS IN THE SKY which is very dangerous and there are campains against it

PAU DE SEBO .. well that is a very high post full of animal`s fat and the person who climb on it till the end win prizes
BAG RACES, FISHING PRIZES STANDS a lot of things
LITTLE CRACKERS/ BOMBS which chikdren irritate everybody LOL LLOL.
There are fireworks, too.
