Salut tous.

Valodia, Valodia, Valodia (...) em defessa do povo angolano
Valodia tombou na mao dos imperialistas
que pretendem impornos o neocolonialismo
Povo angolano (...) bem vigilante
a repressiao è um martirio
a povressa tambèm
(...)
Valodia, um filho bem amado do povo angolano
Valodia deu a sua vida por uma causa justa
Valodia morreu, mais o seu nome
(...)
Abajo capitalismo,
abajo imperialismo,
abajo neocolonialismo,
avante socialismo
a reacçao nao passara
a opressao nao passara
a luta continua
atè a victoria final

PD: Après une consultation sur Google, ce Valodia semble avoir été un commandant durant la guerre contre les portugais ou chose pareille.

Default About The Song

Sorry for my delay in answering you Sksol.
FD is right ..there is something wrong about the page you gave us. I saw the song written here and I do not know it. If you tell me the title of the song and the singer I can maybe help you because there are a lot of spelling mistakes in it and I guess some parts are missing.I do not understand French but I could guess what Carlos said about the song and he is right. I will correct it, even I have no idea which song is that, ok?

Bem longe, ouvi aquele nome (I HEARD THAT NAME SO FAR...) (...) dos filhos de Angola (...FROM THE SONS OF ANGOLA)
Valodia, Valodia, Valodia (...) (VALODIA... - must be a name)
em defesa do povo angolano ( IN DEFENCE OF THE ANGOLAN PEOPLE)
Valodia tombou na mão dos imperialistas (VALODIA FELL DOWN BY THE HAND OF THE IMPERIALISTS)
que pretendem impor-nos o neocolonialismo (WHO INTEND TO DEMAND/ IMPOSE US NEOCOLONIALISM)
Povo angolano (...) bem vigilante (ANGOLAN PEOPLE ...VERY ALERT)
a repressão é um martírio ( REPRESSION IS A TORMENT)
a pobreza também (POVERTY ,TOO...)
(...)
Valodia, um filho bem amado do povo angolano (VALODIA, A DEAR SON OF ANGOLAN PEOPLE)
Valodia deu a sua vida por uma causa justa (VALODIA GAVE HIS LIFE FOR A FAIR CAUSE)
Valodia morreu, mas o seu nome (VALODIA DIED, BUT HIS NAME ...)
(...)
Abajo capitalismo, (DOWN / AGAINST CAPITALISM) (**abajo is Spanish)
abajo imperialismo, ( AGAINST IMPERIALISM)
abajo neocolonialismo, (AGAINST NEOCOLONIALISM)
avante socialismo (GO ON SOCIALISM)
a reação não passara ( THE REACTION WON`T END)
a opressão não passara (THE OPRESSION WON`T END)
a luta continua (THE FIGHT WILL GO ON)
até a vitória final ( UNTIL THE FINAL VICTORY)

Default Valodia: Reply

"Valodia" was the "nom de guerre" of an angolan MPLA commander. He was shot in Luanda in 1975 by other MPLA fraction (fraction "Revolta do Leste" led by Daniel Chipenda). The song is a political one, being very popular in Luanda in 1975.

Post About those songs

Dear peple, and Stefan, too!

It is just fabulous how things sometimes happen - there's something in this mundo, in this monde - that makes humans one and whole.
I started tracking Volodia a week ago and - fancy! - I find this here. Gosh.

I must say, this song was included into the *book soundtrack* ("score") by a very special Russian writer Victor Pelevin. You can find the EN translations of his books at lib.ru/PELEWIN. It was included there (a CD) along with ten other gorgeous songs. As you say that source is no longer available, I dared to let the three beloved songs reside at my own private server. So be welcome to download and unzip:
1) http://gossoudarev.com/music/02-filosofia.zip
2) http://gossoudarev.com/music/05-Valodia.zip
3) http://gossoudarev.com/music/08-hombre.zip
I will BE very MUCH thankful if some of you could help me understand the ideas of the songs 1) and 3). I can guess the No1 is Portug., and the last one must be simply Span., but anyways.
Also I hope some of you could provide the entire lyrics for all the songs, including Valodia - now you can access them safely. I was very pleased, by the way, that I had correctly determined it as Port. and almost correctly recognised many words like "filhos d'Angola", "deu a sua vida por uma causa justa". Port. is much like Spanish+Italian+French, isn't it?

The songs fit the mood of the book just perfectly. I only wish you could all read it. It is called "The Holy(or Sacred) Book of the Werwolf".

I indeed hope you'll respond.
Gandalf.
