"Ne Yunanlı ne de Türktür - Kıbrıslıdır"...when u say this without 'Kıbrıs',you dont describe any object.So you should use it.Instead of 'it' we generally use 'o' but it doesnt suit here.because at first you should describe the object.If you directly use 'o' ,it will be a bit meaningless.

Maybe I'm being ignorant of Turkish grammar, but I would've thought that "Kıbrıs" would be placed before the verb ["free"] as Turkish (usually?) follows the subject-object-verb rules?

Surely if I say "Free Cyprus! It is neither Greek, nor..." it would be obvious here that "it" refers to Cyprus? I would've thought this would be evident in any language; perhaps I'm wrong? And I presume the Turkish 'o' would convey this meaning?

Sorry for the pedantic questions.
