Default learning turkish, is it very difficult?

as above I know quite a lot of vocab that I've picked up over the years but I'm not so good at forming sentences. I've been on some Turkish lesson sites to try and understand some more of the sentence structure etc. Is Turkish very hard to learn?
thanks,
x

hi S07,

when you compare it to Hungarian, Polish or Russian.. or some asian languages.. it s easier.. i have a German friend. she was here to learn Turkish for a month.. while she was leaving here, she could understand what i said more or less.. i mean it depends on the effort you do.. if you need some help, i d like to assist you.. just write me or add me to your msn.. take care..

ciao

Faruk.

Hi summer07

I've been learning Turkish for almost seven months, and so far it has been a lot easier than I expected :D. It's actually easier for me than Spanish, probably because it has very few irregularies and I seem to do better when everything is straight forward and easily compartmentalized.
Everyone learns differently, but since you already know vocabulary, a good next step might be to get a good book or course outline, go over a few grammar rules each day, practice them and then get someone to check your work. There are lots of friendly Turks online who will be more than happy to help you (as you can see). Good luck!

hey hey

should I just try and learn a load of vocab then move on to verbs and sentence structure and forming sentences? Or learn how to construct sentences first and the rules that go with that, then pick vocab up as I go along?
I've got some kind of Turkish language programme full of vocab which I'm learning

thanks,
s07
