I am not sure, if I understand you clear, so I really need some additional explanations what does each of the exams' names include. For example, "multiply choice" - is it about an exam when they give you questions with several varianst of answers marked a, b, c an so on, so you have to choose one of the answers? If so, then in Russian it is called "òåñò" [pronounced as test]. If it is something different, then please explain, so I can give you another answer.
As to "essay". If it means writing some text based on given exact topic to check up ability to express ideas about the subject, then usually we call it "ñî÷èíåíèå" [pronounced as sachinEnije]. As to "open book" - I have no idea what could be meaning of that, so here I expect describing of the exam to give you an answer. |

Let me give you an example: you are sitting an exam about Linguistics and you get a question like: что такое язык? And you have to give an explanation, often a definition that has existed in your textbooks or notes. something like: Язык есть важнейшее средство для общения. Без языка не может быть общения и тем самым и общества. And you get another question like: Какой генетической классификации принадлежит русский язык? а) германской б)романской г) славянской д) иранской and there you have to choose the correct answer, in this case Slavic languages. An "open book" exam is an exam (often physics or mathematics) where you can use a book solve the problems and exercises. теперь ясно?

Well, first exam with questions is "òåñò", as I said before.
As to "open book" ...... well, it's not easy to answer. I am quite old lady of 33 y.o, and so my university days were many years ago. At the time when I studied at Universtity, we were absolutely forbidden to use any books while writing our exams. Maybe now it is different, I don't know reallly. So I think there is no special name for this kind of exam. If it's physics exam, then we just call it "óñòíûé ýêçàìåí ïî ôèçèêå" or "ïèñüìåííûé ýêçàìåí ïî ôèçèêå" - depending on what is the aim of the exam - to answer all the questions in front of a professor, or just writing the answers and solving exersises, so the professor will check the works later. By the way, in the context of your message the expression "òåïåðü ÿñíî?" sounds a little bit not polite ;-). Here it was better to use "Òàê ïîíÿòíåå?" It's ust a little nuance, but since you want to know "âñå, ÷òî ìîæíî", I think it will be good for you to know ;-) |
