hi everyone, I am translating onto Italian a wonderful poem song by joanna newsom.
you can find the lyrics here: SongMeanings | lyrics | Joanna Newsom - Emily I am done with the whole thing, but for one last bit: The meadowlark and the chim-choo-ree and the sparrow Set to the sky in a flying spree, for the sport over the pharaoh (first lines) of course it is a poetic text, so i dont expect it to make complete sense, but the "for the sport over the pharaoh" line is just downright puzzling to me. anyone can help? thanks =) |
