The food in India is very different from that in America, because in India they don’t eat beef, since cows are sacred [to Hindus]. Dishes comprise mainly chicken with spices and rice. They are full of flavor because they are cooked for many hours. The food is healthier and more nutritious than in America, where people eat fast-food such as hamburgers and french fries, which are fattening, full of chemicals and unhealthy. Moreover in America, we don’t take enough time over eating.
My trip to India was outstanding! During two weeks, I learnt many things in the country of my parents. I never knew that there were so many traditions. I was surprised that Indians do not eat beef, because for me it is normal to eat it. The wedding of my uncle and aunt was a wonderful experience for me, Indians people pray a lot. They have many gods. Moreover, India has many different landscapes, high mountains, countryside and dense forests. The Taj Mahal is the symbol of India, being both lofty and majestic. We cannot fail to take note of this monument. My relatives were very nice to me. We ate different traditional dishes of India, it was different but fine, I have never seen as much food at a wedding! I learnt traditions and rituals from my relatives, now I am more tolerant of others, I understand the way of life of my family and this is all thanks to my travel. My mixed education between America and India is even more well-rounded. |
