Bonjour,
----- Quote:

Bonjour,
A man interviews a girl whose name is Shareen. She came from Pakistan (Far East). When a child, she remembers that other children were savages. Now she lives in London, in Great Britain. She excepted<=(??) because the weather is showery while in Pakistan the weather is good, always sunny, never rainy, contrary to what happens in London. Some people on the street think that she doesn't speak English. In reality she speaks very good English owing that in Pakistan English is the second language at school after Urdu. Her integration is easy due to the fact she wears western clothes as western people. She likes London because she can meet people. England is a free country where she can study, get married whereas in Pakistan people cannot express themselves, there's no freedom of speech. The standard of living in London is higher, which is very different from Pakistan. But now Pakistan has changed, life is changing. It's more and more modern, there are new industries, oil. Shes misses her family and friends. |

A man interviews a girl whose name is Shareen. She comes from Pakistan (South Asia). As a child, she remembers that the other children were wild. Now she lives in London in Great Britain. She expected the weather to be showery unlike Pakistan, where the weather is fine and the sun always shines; it is never rainy, as it is in London. Some people on the street think that she does not speak English. In reality she speaks very good English due to the fact that in Pakistan, English is the second language at school after Urdu. She finds it easy to integrate because she wears western clothes just like people in the West. She likes London because she can meet people. England is a free country where she can study and get married, whereas in Pakistan people cannot express themselves and there is no freedom of speech. Living standards in London are lower for people who are different, such as those from Pakistan. By contrast Pakistan has changed, life is changing. It is becoming more and more modern, there are new industries and oil. She misses her family and friends. |
