TRADUCTION: Family is, in my view, the most precious and sacred treasure life can offer. So, why amputate the bridge with my parents, those beings who are so dear to me, for the sake of a disagreement with regards to my future career? My family has always been by my side, bringing support to me through the tough times, accompanying me through… If it happens that one day, unfortunately, my parents strongly resent the job of my choice, I shall not be angry against them. Contrariwise, I shall try to understand the reasons behind their refusal. However, their standing firm upon their decision shall not, for that much, inhibit me from carrying on with or stick to the job I choose, for I shall certainly, with tremendous patience, succeed in making them understand my choice, my passion. You will most probably ask me why not simply comply to their exigency? |

Family is, in my view, the most precious and sacred treasure life can offer. So, why cut [amputate is almost always a purely medical term, and is rarely used metaphorically like this] the bridge with my parents, those beings who are so dear to me, for the sake of a disagreement with regards to my future career? My family has always been by my side, supporting [simpler and more elegant] me through [the] tough times, accompanying me through…
If it happened that one day, unfortunately, my parents strongly objected to [the past tense in English, as in French, represents a more remote possibility than the present; you could also say "If one day my parents were to object to..."]] my chosen career, I would not be angry with them. On the contrary, I would try to understand the reasons behind their refusal. However, their standing firm upon their decision would not [omit this phrase] stop me from carrying on with or sticking to the job I had chosen, for with patience, I would surely succeed in making them understand my choice, my passion. You will most probably ask me why not simply comply with their demands? |
