Hello, je souhaite écrire à mon amie anglophone et vous êtes d'une précieuse aide, it's so difficult to translate a mail! (je ne sais pas si mon anglais est bon, n'hésitez pas à rectifier. Voilà le mail:

Hi,
Aujourd'hui je ressens un grand besoin de me dépenser physiquement. Tous les vendredis David et moi allons à la piscine, mais aujourd'hui je vais m'y rendre et faire quelques longueurs. Pour la rentrée prochaine je compte également reprendre la gymnastique, si bien-sûr l'oncologue l'accepte. (Je suis confiante sur son accord). Fin juin je me rends à Paris en tant que 'directrice de thèse' et membre du jury, l'étudiante que j'aide et dirige passera sa thèse. Je souhaitais te remercier pour l'envoi de l'email de ta maman, j'apprends beaucoup et ses escapades m'intéressent. En ce moment c'est le grand ménage de printemps, toutes les pièces y passent. Mon plus grand souhait serait de refaire la chambre et le bureau, je compte passer par un organisme qui propose le service de personnes qualifiées au chomage. Voilà, bien je vais aller me dépenser avec mes palmes, ça me fera un bien fou. Bye Love, Marie.

Salut. Je ne suis pas sûre quelle chambre vous voulez dire quand vous dites, "refaire la chambre et le bureau". Dans ce contexte est-ce que ca veut dire "bedroom" ou peut-être "living room"???

For the english, you would say "it's so difficult to translate an email". But for regular mail sent by the post (not the internet) you would say "it's so difficult to translate a letter" not "a mail" Mail is a plural word, but for some reason email is not... I don't know why!
To give another example, you can say: "I recieved an email today"
but you can NOT say: I recieved a mail today."
You can say: "I recieved a letter in the mail today" or "I revieved some mail today".

Bonjour,
La chambre dont je parle est bien la chambre à coucher 'the bedroom'.
Merci pour la traduction, je balbutie en anglais, j'ai commencé Assimil mais je serai incapable de m'exprimer aussi fluidement. C'est très sympa de ta part.
